Werribee Gorge Circuit Walk Map

This incredible park of 575 hectares is an amazing expanse of rocky outcrops, plummeting cliffs, rich vegetation and abundant wildlife. there are some other, more challenging walks in the. Werribee gorge state park has a selection of shorter and long loop walks to choose from. Initially heading up to the high point of the trail through eucalypt forest, the trail descending into the deep gorge as it follows the werribee river.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 28 min to complete. The walk is, by our standards anyway, fairly easy. We rug up, knowing that warmth will come when the sun crests the gorge rim, and head out.

There are multiple entrances to the walking track. Werribee gorge is quite a spectacular landscape, with the river cutting a ravine through the hills up to 300 metres deep. All walks are grade 3, meaning a moderate level of fitness is required, walking on uneven ground with many steps, some rock hopping and steep hill sections involved.
